Cinereous Bunting - a first for Denmark

Added by Kim Aaen 01-06-2005

A Cinereous Bunting Emberiza cineracea was discovered Saturday 28 May 2005 in Skagen, Denmark. The Skagen bird is the first Cinereous Bunting to be found in Denmark. The species normally lives in and around Turkey. The last time a Cinereous Bunting visited Northern Europe was in June 1877 on the german island Heligoland. Christian A. Jensen photographed the bird.
