Lunar eclipse
Added by Jakob Damborg 04-03-2007During the night between the 3th. and 4th. of March a complete eclipse of the moon could be experienced in Denmark. The shade of the Earth started to slide in front of the moon at approximately 22.30. The eclipse was complete at 23.44, and approximately two hours later it was all over.
During complete eclipses of the moon the Earth´s shade effectively covers the sun and the moon is left dark, however the moon is not completely dark since the red rays of light are bend through the earths atmosphere and hits the surface of the moon. The red light makes the moon appear as a juicy orange!
A few of NatureEyes´ photographers were fortunate enough to be in parts of Denmark where the weather made photography possible. A composite image of the lunar eclipse can be seen below.
